Why Tallow?

Well the list will be a lot shorter if we told you what tallow CAN'T do. From helping with eczema to contact dermatitis to cracked feet and diaper rashes the list is endless. Used for centuries in cooking until some genius found out tallows composition closely resembles the natural lipids in our own skin; making it effective in repairing and strengthening the skin barrier. How is tallow made? Tallow comes from the fat of the cow and used in a wet or dry rendering method which is just a fancy word for extraction. The fat is melted and mixed with pure reverse osmosis water and pink Himalayan salt to draw out the impurities. This helps get rid of the beef/hay scent. Then the fat chunks are removed and discarded and the liquid solidifies into a white block called tallow. Next step would be purifying the tallow (getting rid of any junk we don't want in our products) Tallow makers can purify their product as many times as they see fit. We personally purify our tallow three times to ensure we have a white odorless beauty ready for lotions, soaps and lip balms. Purifying the tallow is a process very similar to rendering except there are no fatty chunks to remove. Simple and effective way to heal our skin!
